Bullybusters
This new project managed by Local Solutions is in collaboration
between the Liverpool Echo, Greater Merseyside Local Education
Authorities (LEA’s), Safer Merseyside Partnership and TUC to
tackle the problem of bullying. Launched on September 1st, the free
helpline provides a support and advocacy service for victims of
bullying and their families.
To complement the helpline Duo designed and developed this website
to help bring together people with experience of school bullying.
We designed the corporate id, some marketing material in addition
to developing this easy to edit website. The site features a
bulletin board which allows the three main audiences of children,
parents and teacher to discuss their experiences of bullying and
share advice.
The site was launched on the 1st of March 2005, receiving over 320
visits in one day due to the extensive marketing material
distributed throughout the Merseyside area. The site has already
received membership sign-ups for the bulletin board and bullied
children have begun to email the staff at Bullybusters seeking
their help and advice via the website based forms.
The site will no doubt grow in popularity over the coming months as
more children, parent and teachers contribute to the bulletin board
and create an on-line knowledge base of experience and advice to
help tackle the increasing problem of school bullying.
